What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Bring your class to Wildwood for a unique learning experience! Group visits start from just £2 per person, with free places for teachers, helpers and carers when you book educational activities.
Wildwood is the perfect venue to inspire your class or group about the plants and animals to be found in their local environment.
Set in over 40 acres of ancient woodland, Wildwood offers a range of award-winning education workshops and activities for all ages.
If you are looking for something different, we can design workshops especially for your class.
We can differentiate for different ages and abilities, so if you have a particular topic you would like us to cover, please just ask! We will be more than happy to help!

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

Wildwood offers a wide range for topics within the NC subjects of Biology, Environmental Studies and Art & Design. Workshops are interactive and focus on personal experience & investigation.

What are the activities?

Guided tours, interactive workshops, art & craft sessions, short animal sessions and longer courses.

What is the age range of the activities?

Pre-school - 21yrs

Sample programme of the activities:

Primary: Adaptation & Habitats, Teeth & Skeletons, Colour & Camouflage.
Secondary: CSI: Wildwood, Ecological Sampling.
Sixth Form: Ecological Sampling, Captive Breeding and Reintroduction workshops, Species conservation.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

Extra materials are not usually required, however confirmation will be supplied by the Education team at time of booking.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

We can supply generic risk assessments as required.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Teachers and group organisers are always welcome to visit the park in advance for a pre-visit inspection for FREE, either independently or to meet the education team and discuss plans for their day.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

Restaurant, Shop, Picnic area, play area

Is specific clothing required?

Sensible footwear is recommended and suitable clothing for the weather conditions.
