What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Safe environment. Lots of hands on activities including something to make and take back to school for each child. Experienced staff leading visits. Undercover area for coats, bags and lunch. Risk Assessments in place + free risk assessment visits. Teachers and helpers free of charge.

What are the activities?

Activities include: Dressing Up in Costimes, Making Activities, Hands on artefact handling, role play etc.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

Everything required is provided by Weston Park - schools need only bring themselves.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Minimum size is 20 children (or minimum payment of £130).
Maximum is two classes (up to 70 children per day) or three classes (45 children per day) spread over 2 days.
1 teacher free per 5 children. Additional adults free for special needs. Please enquire as adults are rarely if ever charged.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

Risk assessments are available to download online. Teachers should attend a free premilinary visit at a time to suit to carry out their own risk assessment.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Scheduled for 2012 - dates to be confirmed.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

We have a farm shop which offers a variety of hot and cold drinks and souvenirs.

Is specific clothing required?

No specific requirements for clothing. Sensible clothing to be worn for outdoor activities.

Do you have first aid on site?

Many of our staff are trained first aiders and there are always at least 2-3 trained staff on site at any given time.

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

No restrictions on photos (except in the main House).
