What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

West End Workshops are a unique opportunity to gain a first-hand knowledge, understanding and appreciation for live theatre by working with professional actors, active in the industry. Workshops enable students to get to grips with the subjects, themes and characters before seeing the live show.

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

Active participation in theatre and drama significantly helps students to think and act in new and exciting ways, learning to communicate with imagination and clarity, gain confidence and self-esteem in a safe and fun environment.

Workshops take place in various venues in and around the West End of London including dance studios, theatres and halls.

What is the age range of the activities?

Workshops are available for all ages

Take part in a two hour workshop on the subject of your choice which is tailored to you and your group, followed by lunch at a near-by restaurant then visit the West End show of your choice.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

Comfortable clothing, an open mind and a sense of imagination and play.

Although minimum costs do apply, there is now minimum or maximum group size as many studios we use have multiple spaces in which to split the group.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

Teachers can conduct their own risk assessment on request.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

This can be arranged on request.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

In partnership with many restaurants in the area we can provide set menus discounted to school rates or can arrange for packed lunches to be delivered to the workshop venue.

Is specific clothing required?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing and trainers is recommended although not essential for all workshops.

Do you have first aid on site?

Most venues do have first-aid facilities but groups are advised to ensure this is managed by the group leaders.

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

Within the studio space digital recording is permitted, but copywright is owned by Theatre Workout and we ask that we are provided with copies for our own documentation.
