What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

The oldest building in Torquay with tales to tell of medieval monks and wealthy families - both once owners of much of the surrounding land that is now Torquay. Archaeological excavations have revealed some exciting finds. The gardens include a traditional knot garden and a special section called Agatha Christie's Potent Plants.

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

History - the most complete monastery in the South West, Georgian home of one local family for over 300 years.
Art - permanent collection and visiting contemporary exhibitions.

What are the activities?

Brass rubbing.
Fact-fiding trails.
Guided tours.

Can be tailed to suit.
