What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

The Look Out is a firm favourite for school visits. Great fun for all ages, whatever the weather. The interactive science and nature exhibition offers 100 bright and fun-filled exhibits in five themed zones; Light and Colour, Sound and Communication, Forces and Movement, Woodland and Water and Body and Perception. Launch a hot air balloon or a hydrogen rocket, or even freeze your shadow on the wall. Don’t forget to look out for Solomon the resident robotic owl too!

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

The exhibits promote both science and nature education in a fun, hands-on environment. Our shows are linked in to the School curriculum, KS1 and KS2.

What is the age range of the activities?

As a guideline the age range is 4 - 12 years.

Sample programme of the activities:

100 educational science and nature exhibits. We also offer interactive shows, backpacks or discovery boxes for additional activities. We have a large play area and 1000 hectares of Crown Estate woodland outside the centre.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

1 adult free per 6 children.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

We have a Risk Assessment available.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Yes, teachers are vey welcome to come for a tour of the centre

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

Gift shop and Coffee shop on site.

Is specific clothing required?

No

Do you have first aid on site?

Yes, two First Aiders are always on site.
