What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Tudor World is an award-winning museum, which makes learning about the Tudors educational and fun. It is set within a genuine historic building. Everything is arranged for you and our team of characters will bring history alive. With three ex-teachers on site, you are sure of a rewarding visit.

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

Tudor World ticks all the boxes for studying the Tudors and Elizabethans (rich and poor, Henry VIII and his wives, break from Rome, portraits) etc. There are free downloadable worksheets relating to the Tudors, as well as literacy worksheets.

What are the activities?

Interactive history tour of the building with a costumed guide, recruitment to Henry VIII's army interative workshop (or recruitment to Elizabeth's Secret Service), and interactive Crime and Punishment workshop in our theatre area. If you would like a particular Shakespeare or Tudor character, please just ask.
An evening ghost tour of the building is also available on request.

What is the age range of the activities?

They are adaptable from 6 year olds to 18 year olds.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

No materials are required, however there are free downloadable worksheets on the Tudor and English literacy that relate to the museum. Writing and recording materials maybe required on The Business of Tourism.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

15-100
All teachers / carers are free (we will assume there is a sensible ratio).

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

Risk assessment is free downloadable on the website.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Teachers are welcome to a fam trip by arrangement.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

There is a gift shop.
During inclement weather, there is a small partially covered area groups can have a picnic lunch. However, there are numerous cafes and restaurants in the facinity and the beautiful Bancroft Gardens are situated at the bottom of the street, beside the River Avon.

Is specific clothing required?

No.

Do you have first aid on site?

Yes, although we advise groups to also bring their own.

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

No.
