Tattershall Castle is a vast fortified and moated tower built between 1433-1443 and contains fabulous Gothic fireplaces, brick vaulting and original 17th Century tapestries. There are also spectacular views from the top!

Guided tours; dance workshops; role play; heraldry and stained glass art workshops; brass rubbing; Life in a Medieval Castle workshop.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

Pupils just need to bring with them enthusiasm and we provide all resources.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

No minimum; Maximum 30 children, with a 1:6 teacher/pupil ratio.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

We offer health and safety guidelines for teachers-please contact our education administrator for details.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

We have a shop with a range of pocket money toys. The area above the shop can be used in bad weather as a lunch room, however there is only space for 20 children. School groups are more than welcome to use our extensive lawn as a picnic space.

Is specific clothing required?

Children should be dressed appropriately for a cold, sometimes, damp 15th Century Castle!
