What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Stratford Butterfly Farm offers a unique learning environment. What better place to learn about tropical rainforest ecosystems and the animals that live there than by visiting one - or the next best thing at least? Bring your class to see us for a lesson they will never forget.

What are the activities?

We offer group discounts and a free guided tour to all pre booked groups of 10 or more. The tours are led by expert staff and include and insect handling session.

What is the age range of the activities?

The butterfly farm is suitable for children of any age.

Sample programme of the activities:

Guided tour includes, Insect anatomy, caterpillars and the butterfly life cycle, metemorphosis and an insect handling session.
In the half term holidays we have a meet the minibeasts handling sessions.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

We have an education pack to download form our website.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Min 10 - Max call to ask.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

We have a risk assessment and encourage schools to come and complete their own.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

fabulous Gift shop, public toilets across in the car park (not on site) Education room.

Is specific clothing required?

No but is very warm so t-shirts are advised.
