Opening Times

Both museums are open daily from 1st April - 31st October: Shaftesbury Abbey from 10am to 5pm and Gold Hill Museum from 10.30am to 4.30pm. We can also open out of normal hours for a small fee.

We offer talks, tours and activities designed to develop your pupil’s historical investigation and interpretation skills, enhancing their learning in a fun and meaningful way.

What is the age range of the activities?

All ages, from pre-school upwards,can be catered for

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Max. 50. We require 1 adult for every 8 children. All accompanying adults are free.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

No food supplied on site but you can bring your own. Can supply drinks and snack if required. There is a gift shop.

School Group Pricing

70p per child in a school group. All accompanying adults are free. Workshops can be arranged from approx. £30 which covers any expenses for materials and the educator.
