Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Replay Education Services deliver fun, educational and interactive workshops to primary schools. Our workshops are cross-curricular and are suitable for children of all ages and abilities.
Because we come to you, you don't have to worry about long coach journeys, lost pupils, food, toilets, gift shops, bad weather etc. We will provide an enjoyable time for your pupils in the secure environment of your school.
Our workshops are run by fully trained teachers with current CRB checks and liability insurance.
Our current workshop is called: TRADITIONAL PLAYGROUND GAMES
The best-known playground games are disappearing fast and most of today’s children are unfamiliar with games of the past.
We have designed a cross-curricular workshop for primary schools which is focussed on teaching children traditional playground games. Children will be grouped according to age to ensure the games they learn are suitably challenging and engaging. No equipment is needed – just a group of enthusiastic children!
The workshop has direct links with the themes outlined by ‘Healthy Schools’ and with the curriculum for PSHE, PE and History. Games teach children the social skills necessary for a balanced, successful and productive life.
Games play contributes to the development of:
- group work
- self-esteem
- concentration
- coordination
- the ability to follow rules
- exercise
- sharing
- strategy
- problem-solving
- confidence
- communication
- health and fitness
The Traditional Playground Games workshop promotes a positive behaviour and an anti-bullying message. Replay Education Services is an associate member of the Anti-Bullying Alliance. This workshop can enhance the topic of Anti-Bullying and would be an excellent workshop to hold during National Anti-Bullying Week.
Friends are the best defence against bullying, but not all children have the right social skills to make friends easily. Children who play games protect themselves from bullies who (being essentially cowardly) prefer solitary victims. Bullies are unlikely to challenge a gang of noisy, carefree players.
3 - 11
In a typical session, we would teach a group of children one game at a time. The children will play each game as a group before moving onto the next game.
We recommend groups of 35 or under per session, and one member of staff is required to be present. We can fit 7 sessions into a full school day.
We have a ready-made risk assessment for schools which will be sent to you after booking.
We run an INSET session for staff which delivers:
- practical tips for transforming your playground
- solutions to common playground problems
Each session lasts between 45 minutes to an hour and can be completed during an INSET day or as a ‘twilight session’ straight after school.
We welcome and encourage photographs during the workshop!
