What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway opened on May 24th 1875, there is a lot of historical heritage. There are plenty of different upcoming events from 'Steam and Romans' to a 'Wildlife Day' with lots of learning opportunites.

What are the activities?

Ravenglass Gift shop, Outdoor play area, Scafell Gift Shop at Dalegarth, Cycle trails and a second play area at Dalegarth.

What is the age range of the activities?

The play area's from pre-school to 10. Gift Shops for all ages. Cycle trails from pre-school to adults.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

10 pupils, one free adult.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

Two Cafes, at Ravenglass and Dalegarth.

Is specific clothing required?

No. However we suggest you bring a coat as there are open carriages.
