Peat Rigg is an award winning privider of high quality outdoor education courses. The superb facilities, at our 32 bed centre, combined with a wide range of outdoor activities, provide experiences that build self confidence and allow individuals and groups to realise their potential

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

Outdoor Eduaction and Experiental Learning courses for key stages 2 to 4.
GCSE Physical Education, BTEC Sports, Key Skills, Sports leaders

What are the activities?

Abseiling, Rock climbing, GPS goecashing, archery, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, orienteering, zip lines, low ropes course, pond crossing, bushcraft, camping and bivvying, team challenge day, team building exercises, high ropes course

What is the age range of the activities?

7 - adults

We will provide all the specialist equipment for all activities. Kit list available on our website www.peatrigg.co.uk

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

The centre has 32 beds. Larger groups occasionally accommodated in tents.
Staff places free on a 1 to 8 basis

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

All risk assessments regualrly checked and updated. They are available on ourwebsite www.peatrigg.co.uk/about/safety.php along with AALA licence, insurance,LOtC quality badge, Investors in People award and much more to help you plan you trip

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Teachers are very welcome to come and visit by prior arrangement.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

Good quality food is an important part of what we offer. Our chefs provide excellent home cooked food, with a variety of menus to suit your needs. We use as much home grown (from our own organic 100 acre farm) or locally sourced produce as possible to provide both the quality and qualtity you need to enjoy and active residential

Is specific clothing required?

A kit list will be sent you when you book

Do you have first aid on site?

All staff are first aiders, and first aid kits are carried on all activities
