What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Oaker Wood Leisure is set in 175 acreas of mature Herefordshire woodland located between Ludlow and Leominster on the Shropshire, Herefordshire border. We specialise in school activity days and residentials (either camping or bunk house) and offer a wide selection of activities both to enhance team building and communication and as fun end of term rewards. We can also bring our activities to you to reduce travel costs.

What is the age range of the activities?

Age restrictions vary depending on activity but we offer activities from 7 to 70!

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

All outdoor pursuits equipment for activities are provided along with full training from our qualified marshalls.
For Camping residentials we provide everything you need other than sleeping bags and pillows. Camping may be on a catered or self catered basis.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Minimum group size 8.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

Risk Asssessments are provided for all activities.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

We encourage teachers to visit Oaker Wood Leisure to see our site prior to arranging a trip.
We also regularly organise Teachers Open daysa when teachers can visit with their families to try out some of our activities.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

We provide barbecue lunch on all full day activities.
Camping residentials may be on a catered or self catered basis. If self catered we provide all the cooking utensils and crockery.

Is specific clothing required?

We recommend old clothing and a spare pair of trainers for raft building.

Do you have first aid on site?

All our staff are trained in first aid and first aid is available on site.
