Norton Priory is an ideal place for an inspirational education visit, with a museum, medieval ruins, woodlands, and Walled Garden. A wide range of hands on workshops are available.
We offer activities suitable for any age range from pre-school, primary and secondary, to adult learners.
We provide all materials necessary for our sessions and activities. Or feel free to bring your own resources for a self-led visit.
We recommend a supervision ratio of 1 adult to every 6 children. These adults are therefore admitted free of charge. We have no minimum or maximum group sizes but there is a minimum charge for workshops of £40.
Norton Priory is a safe place to visit and all of our workshops are risk assessed. A copy of our risk assessment can be found on our website.
Teachers and group leaders are welcome to a free visit in advance of their session to familiarise themselves with the site and amenities.
There is a cafe on site, as well as plenty of picnic areas and we can arrange indoor spaces to eat pack lunches. There is a small gift shop at the museum which sells a range of toys, books, and stationery. We also offer goody bags for schools which can be arranged in advance.
There's no need for any special clothing, just sensible shoes if you plan on exploring the gardens and woodlands!
Many of our staff our trained in first aid and we can provide first aid on site if required.
Groups are welcome to take photos around the museum and gardens. We only you to let us know if you are planning to publish them.
Workshops are led by Norton Priory staff and last approx 1hr 15mins.
As well as your workshop you can explore the museum and extensive grounds.
We also have guides and trails available for self-led options.
All school groups must book in advance to get our special education rates.
