What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Here at the New Theatre we receive visits from a wide range of theatre, dance and opera companies, creating the opportunity for school trips which support classroom based learning whilst offering an exciting treat for the whole group.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Any size of group is welcome. School rates and discounts vary from show to show, but usually a group of 10 or more are entitled to special ticket prices, with one teacher free for every 10 pupils.

Do you have or how do you arrange risk assessment?

We do have a risk assessment available on request.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Not as a regular feature but we are always happy to receive visits from teachers and trip organisers before they attend the theatre.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

We can offer our Stalls Bar area for school groups who would like to bring and eat their lunches before or after shows. There are several refreshment kiosks, selling a wide range of soft drinks, ice creams and sweets. Interval orders can be booked and paid for in advance.

Do you have first aid on site?

There is at least one member of staff with a up-to-date first aid qualification on site at all times.

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

Most shows do not allow photos during the performance.
