Geography(Key stage 2 and 3)- River Studies- Take a walk with an experienced member of staff to see the effects of erosion and deposition.Take part in an investigation and see how the river flows.
Transport- A site tour using interactive displays and models with one of our team.It will offer you a greater insight into the way in which the Navigations have helped to carry a variety of goods.
History (Key stages 1 and 2)- Victorian Britain- Try on our victorian costumes to bring alive characters who lived and worked at the Wharf.Then take an exciting tour and discover how they would have lived.
People and changes in the past- Take a tour and learn about the significance of water transport through the ages.Spend time on one of the barges that was built right here at Dapdune Wharf.
Historical enquiry- Develop first hand knowledge and understanding of the past through our handling workshop.This offers an opportunity to observe and study artefacts which played an important role.

We provide costumes,artefacts, models, science equipment,paper, pencils and clipboards.

Schools should arrange for the following leader ratios:

Juniors: 1 adult to 6 children
We ask the teacher to come in and do a risk assessment before the trip if possible as it is a unique setting.
The teacher is welcome to a free pre visit to meet with the learning officer and have a chance to do the risk assessment.Visits must be arranged in advance.
We have an undercover education room and on fine days an outdoor picnic area.We also have a small shop.Please let us know if you wish to visit the shop when making your booking.
The visit will involve being outside at some points so clothing appropriate to the weather is essential.

The site is based by the river so water is extremely important to us.We give a health and saftey talk at the start of the day.
Prices for activities are £1.50 per pupil per session, plus £1.50 per child entry to the Wharf.(Entry is free for Education Group Members)
