What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Each school group is giving a dedicated tour guide making the tour informative and interactive. Indoor so not weather dependant.

Water cycles, life cycles, food chains etc

What are the activities?

Animal handling, guided tour.

What is the age range of the activities?

All ages. Tours can be tailored to individual classes.

Sample programme of the activities:

As part of our package we can combine a visit to Lakes Aquarium with a trip on a steam train and 40 minute cruise on lake Windermere. One stop booking line for a full day out in Windermere, more package options available.

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

Teacher resource packs and risk assessments provided.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

Teacher ratio 1:10, no maximum group size but for a guided tour we would advise maximum of 25 people per group but large schools can be split into a number of groups and follow at 15 minute intervals.

Do you offer Teacher familiarisation days?

Yes teachers and families can be admitted free of charge. To arange a familiaristaion visit just call 015395 30153 ext 207.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

There are two cafes and two gift shops on site. Outside undercover picnic benches are also provided for pack lunches.
