10am - 5.30pm
If you're looking for an inspirational educational visit or a full session of adventure activities that combines energy, fun and learning, or both, then Knockhatch Adventure Park offers these fantastic options for you.
Our educational visits are linked to the National Curriculum. Set in 80 acres of countryside, just north of Eastbourne, East Sussex, Knockhatch Adventure Park is home to a wide range of animals, such as Birds of Prey, Farmyard Animals, Deer, Llamas, to name but a few. We offer the opportunity for some learning activities, such as talks and displays given by our staff and animal handlers, and hands-on experiences, such as handling some of the smaller animals, all under the supervision of our knowledgeable staff.
Learn about Animal Lifecycles and Habitats: Observe wild animals, for example deer, sheep, and birds of prey, such as owls, and eagles, in their different habitats and hear how they have adapted to suit their habitats.
Animal Diets: the children will be introduced to the specific foods for different animals. They will be introduced to the different diets for herbivores, compared to carnivores and omnivores, and will look at food chains.
Animal Senses: We look at the different animals and how they have evolved to have one sense that is very strong and helps them to survive as a species; for example, we show how the kestrel has very good eyesight, whilst a sheep uses smell and sound.
Animal handling: Learn how to hold and care for small animals, such as rabbits, through hands on experience.
Adventure Activities: we offer a host of fun activities, such as tractor trailer rides, quadapillar rides, jumping pillows, and a large adventure playground.
From age 4 - 13.
Trips to the Park can be tailored according to your requirements. Half day or full day sessions are available. You may wish to opt purely for an educational visit, or you may wish to combine this with some of the fun activities we have also to offer, to allow the children to have a runaround and let off some steam!
