What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

We offer a range of services to student groups - at all levels - studying or interested in studying James Joyce. Our staff our knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, and we can tailor a group's visit to their specific needs. What better way to study Joyce than in his home city with our knowledgeable staff!

What are the Curriculum Topics or Benefit to the students from a visit?

We help students achieve a better understanding of James Joyce and his works, whether they are studying him specifically or literature in general. School groups from all over the world visit us because we can make Joyce accessible to them. All of our services are tailored to the needs of the group - so if they want a general overview or a more detailed examination of Joyce's stylistic approaches, we can provide that for them. Many school groups who are studying Joyce as part of examinations have found our services indispensable.

What are the activities?

For the price of admission per student (€3.50) we provide a talk and guided tour of our exhibition at no additional talk.

We provide walking tours of the city centre. These take between 75-90 minutes. Our walks are one of the most popular and fun ways for students to place Joyce's life and work into a real, recognizable context. Walks can be toilored to a group's needs if requested. Cost: €8 per student.

We also provide workshops and lectures. Again, these can be toilered to a group's needs. Cost: €8 per student.

We provide a walking tour followed by a workshop/lecture - or vice versa - for a special rate of €10 per student.

What is the age range of the activities?

Many groups find it beneficial to take a workshop followed by a walking tour. In this way they can address specific topics of their choosing in the workshop, while placing this knowledge into context on the walking tour.
