What makes this a great venue for School group Fun or Educational Visits?

Our programme features a range of shows suitable for different age groups, from pre-school, through primary and secondary school and above. We regularly host visiting school groups and often offer schools' matinee performances: recent & upcoming examples include Lilies on the Land, Private Peaceful, Mr Stink, and Friend or Foe. We often have Post Show Talks with the cast and other members of the production teams; and in partnership with Daisi (Devon Arts in Schools Initiatives) we offer a regular programme of schools workshops with visiting companies.

What are the activities?

Watch live performances by professional touring companies; participate in post-show talks and educational workshops.

What is the age range of the activities?

From age 3 upwards

Sample programme of the activities:

Morning: participate in a schools workshop run by visiting company with Daisi
Afternoon: Watch schools matinee performance of play by visiting company, followed by chance to discuss the performance afterwards with the cast.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

No minimum group size; our auditorium seats up to 464 people. We allow one free teacher for every 10 students.

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

Drinks and snacks are available in the theatre foyer before performances and during intervals

Do you have first aid on site?

The front of house manager & duty managers are trained in basic first aid
