A Day long programme spent at Compton Verney lead by a porfessinal learning programmer.
Students get to explore our collections and exhibitions while sketching in the galleries. Have lunch outside in our beautiful 'Capability' Brown landscape and spend the afternoon in the learning centre painting, printing or sculpting.
See real life paintings by porfessinal artists from around the world. Come face to face with our Tudor portraits or see what life was like in the Victorian times. Each project covers the Art and Design curriculum.
Make a collage in responce to our building, paint a watercolour portraite of yourself in a tudor costume, work together to make a screen printed banner for your class room. Using Clay create your own pots using different methods. Produce a 3D replica Victorian shop sign.

Face to Face
Come face to face with Henry VIII! Students explore Tudor portraiture, symbolism, costume and handle replica Tudor artefacts. they will watch the Tudors come to life through replica costumes and sketch in the gallery. They will also create own Tudor-style self-portaits using exciting painting techniques.
We provide all the materials and would ask schools to bring art shirts to protect school clothing and boxes to transport the artworks back to school.
Minimum: 12 students per group
Maximum: 35 students per group
1 teacher/ adult to 6 students for primary groups & 1 teacher/ adults to 10 students for secondary school groups.
We have a risk assessment and site plan that will get sent out to teacher's along with a programme of the day.
Teachers are welcome to visit Compton Verney before bring a school group. They would need to inform a member of the learning team to arrange a date and time.
We would advise students to bring a pack lunch with them. School groups are welcome to picnic outside on the West Lawn. This gives alot of space to run around and play on the grass. We provided picnic blankets to sit on.
During the wet weather the learning centre will be open for groups to eat in doors. The gallery shop will be open during the hours of 11am-5pm. Large groups would have to book a table to eat in the cafe or coffee bar.

Photographs are not permitted in the galleries but you are able to photograph the outdoors in the grounds.
