Wednesday - Saturday 10.00am - 5.30pm
Chichester District Museum has a fantastic collection of objects from the last 3000 years, right up to the present day.
The focus of all our sessions is handling genuine Museum objects.
We offer a range of Handling Sessions that can be delivered either on site at the Museum or in your school.
We like to work with groups of 10 - 15, so groups will rotate between the session and a tour of the Museum
We provide trails, but it's helpful if teachers can provide clipboards and pencils.
We have no minium group size. A ratio of 5 children to 1 adult is requested for KS1 and 2.
All our sessions are fully risk assessed and are all available from Museum staff. A generel risk assessment for the Museum is also available.
Teachers can pop in any day and request to see the Learning Officer for an informal chat.
We have a shop, lunch room and toilets.
We have a peadiatric first aider on site who is also qualified to administer Epi-pens.
The Museum also care for Chichester's Medieval Guildhall. The Guildhall is particularly suitable for Tudor activity days and Clay work.
The Guidhall also houses our rare Roman stone collection. Situated nest to the Roman City Walls, the guildhall is a popular after luncg visit.
