Stimulating, mind expanding range of exhibitions from the amazing ancient Egyptian galleries, world-class art, local and international wildlife, Elizabethan house with Tudor rooms, Georgian town house, Roman Villa with mosaic floor and beautiful social history museum in a stunning park

Strong Curriculum links with a very wide range of subjects, not only history but science, art, citizenship, DT...

What are the activities?

Many different facilitated sessions on offer from EYFS to KS4 and above, all clearly related to EYFS areas of learning, national curriculum programmes of study, and exam syllabuses where appropriate

EYFS to Adult

Try "Who Am I?" popular session for KS2 using higher order thinking skills to examine a range of Egyptian artefacts and draw conclusions, or Victorian school room role-play session...

What materials to you provide or suggest groups bring to support the visit?

No clipboards allowed but please come with a plan of what you want to look at. We can provide free consulation in advance of a visit.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes and the free Teacher Ratio?

all teachers and accopmanying adults are free

Yes, on request

What facilities are there for school groups for food and drink, shop etc?

An eating room at the City Museum bookable in advance for packed lunches and snacks. Shop at City Museum and Blaise Museum. No eating facilities at Blaise but schools use the adjoining park in good weather.

Is specific clothing required?

No

Do you have first aid on site?

Yes

Are there any restrictions on photos, copyright etc?

No flash photography in some areas and no photography in most temporary exhibitions, otherwise unrestricted.
