Summary:
This was a great trip and one we will repeat next year. It is extremely convenient for us where we are located and acts as a great way to finish off the topics on volcanoes and ecosystems.
Venue:
Natural History Museum
A fantastic museum that contains so much for the pupils to see but also plenty of interactive displays as well.
Benefit:
They are studying volcanoes and ecosystems in geography so a number of the exhibitions were hugely relevant for their curriculum. They also had several worksheets that they filled in, which could then be referred to in lessons.
Plus points:
Location meant it was easy to transport the year group down to the museum by tube, with only a short walk either side.
The museum is free which means there is no need to collect payments from parents.
The museum is school friendly and the staff are always on hand to assist you with any questions or problems.

Minus points:
The museum is a very popular tourist attraction and this means that it gets very busy.
The shops and cafes are very expensive so make sure the pupils bring packed lunches along.
