Year Group:
Key Stage 2
Venue Region:
England
Summary:
Year 5 headed to the Tower of London in the summer term. The weather was great which helps as lunch is an outdoor event just outside the tower entrance. We went to explore the medieval history but the children were fascinated by everything. You can book tours or take part in workshops. There are however Beefeaters walking around and they are happy to answer the children's questions. We had no prescribed activites. We wanted the children to read, take photos and generally enjoy the experience. The only down side is the general public, it is a tourist hot spot so very very busy.
Venue: The Tower of London
A fantastic place to take the children to discover dark medieval secrets and explore stories from the past.
Benefit:
Plus points:

The Crown Jewels. The chidlren found this part very exciting.

There are a variety of workshops on offer to cater for different history topic area.

The cafe just outside the school entrance has a large seating area and allows the children to sit and have their pack lunches whilst the teachers can purchase a cuppa or coffee.
