Y3 World War II trip to Avoncroft Musem

by r1972 on 27th March 2009
Department:
Unknown
Year Group:
Key Stage 2
Venue Region:
West-Midlands
Town:
Bromsgrove
Summary:
Good, but the activities could have been much better organised, and stimulating for the children.
Venue: Avoncroft Museum
Lovely site, with WWII prefab for the children to explore. Land girl and museum activities organised by museum, outdoor areas for lunchtime picnic. Museum activities meant children could handle artefacts. However, land girl activities were less well organised. The children could not all fit into the prefab at once, and so could not hear the land girl. There was a lot of talk and not much activity in this section!
Accommodation: Avoncroft Museum
The museum is wonderful - many old buildings from a wide range of periods, set in large grounds. Toilets are few and far between though.
Benefit:
Would have been better if more hands-on.
Overall:
