Summary:
All in all a good day out, though would only recommend for schools closer to the park.
Venue: Drayton Manor Theme Park
Visited the theme park as a reward trip for Year 9 students. As we left from Central Scotland, we had to leave our school just after 2am. Had done this previously with Alton Towers so thought it would be worth it. The park itself was fine, though not really worth the travel according to the pupils. The park didn't have the same queues as you would experience in Alton Towers, though there was much anger from a lenient approach to those skipping queues. Very frustrating when you have been waiting a while. Most people had been on all rides by lunchtime and found themself with not much else to do. There is a small zoo, but it's not very exciting. Would be a good half day trip. Further frustration was experienced by the unexplained closure of one of the main rides.

Benefit:
Reward Trip
Plus points:
Some good rides, food reasonably priced for a theme park. One free ticket with every ten purchased (i.e. free staff).
Minus points:
Queue jumping, ride closures, small park with limited rides.
Overall:
