Art trip to Liverpool

by linda on 31st March 2009
Department:
Art and Design
Year Group:
Key Stage 4
Venue Region:
North West England
Town:
Liverpool
Summary:
A useful day, all the studnets enjoyed it. Gormleys beach was a big hit with the students.
Venue: Liverpool Tate
Excellent city to visit. Lots for students to see. The gallery was very accomodating for a large group of students (60). But we were slightly disappointed because some of the exhibition was not open as it was being taken down - it was the second to last week of the exhibition. Therefore I would advise teachers to book a visit not too close to the end of the exhibition limit. It's worthwhile going 15 minutes up the coast to Gormleys beach (Crosby beach).
Transport: Hawkins
Excellent. Very friendly driver - makes a big difference.
Benefit:
We took BTEC and GCSE, therefore very useful to look at a variety of works of art.
Plus points:
Not to far to travel. Welcome students at the gallery. Interesting city. Excellent coach driver. Lots of places to eat. Gormleys beach.
Minus points:
Part of the exhibition already taken down.
Overall:
