Summary:
The staff at the centre have used their extensive experience to create a flawless programme which ensures that the children visiting have a thoroughly enjoyable time and learn a lot from their week away. The days are planned and managed by centre staff to ensure that children never have a moment to get bored.
Venue: Stubbington Study Centre
Stubbington Study Centre offers week-long residential visits. They have an extensive and diverse range of activities from which teachers can select their programme for the week. The cost of all activities is included within the cost of the week's visit and the sessions are run by staff from the centre.
As well as offering activities which fill the allocated sessions on each day’s timetable, the staff at the Centre have developed a routine which ensures children are occupied at all times. The routine includes features such as inter-dormitory competitions before bed, a football tournament and daily tuck-shop time!
Accommodation: Dormitories within the centre
The children sleep in four dormitories. Each dormitory is overseen by one member of staff who sleeps in a separate cabin in the corner of the dorm. Centre staff assist with shower and bed time and undertake the daily dormitory inspection which
Transport: Lucketts
As reliable, efficient and helpful as ever.
Benefit:
Children made huge gains in their Personal and Social Education, learning to be more independent.
Our programme focused on Environmental studies. This linked with the science topics of Living Things and Life Cycles. The children learnt a tremendous amount from the staff at the centre and gained a tremendous amount from the hands-on, practical approach of each of the sessions that they did. The centre's excellent facilities meant that we had very successful sessions pond-dipping, building small mammal hotels and out in the hide at night.
Plus points:
The food at the centre is outstanding! The children are offered a full menu of meals and snacks and are overseen at meal-times by staff from the centre. This leaves supervising adults free to enjoy a delicious meal in peace!
