What makes this great accommodation for School groups?

Tyn Dwr is ideal accommodation in itself, and as specialists in outdoor education, adventure sports and pursuits, this is a perfect venue for schools.

The combination of tailored outdoor education, quality and mix of accommodation, range of facilities set in an historic background supported by the University of Centre Lancashire means that all schools can be assured of a quality learning and visit experience.

Located close to the popular tourist town of Llangollen other activities can include the Llangollen canal boat trips and the Llangollen Steam Railway which runs trains for seven miles along the banks of the River Dee from Llangollen to Carrog through some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK.

Property Description

The main hall, a listed Victorian house of ‘Tudorbethan’ style dating back to c. 1866-70 , the Coach House and the Yurt Camp are set in 7 acres of private ancient woodlands in the vale of Llangollen.

Where visitors to the Tyn Dwr Outdoor Centre require a personal emergency evacuation plan (PEEP) they can be provided with a plan to meet their individual needs to facilitate an escape. Standard evacuation plans are held at the Reception in Tyn Dwr Hall and available to visitors as part of the reception/induction procedures. Therefore, any person with a disability that might impede their ability to evacuate a building needs to identify themselves to reception staff when they arrive on site and co-operate by providing any information necessary for the safe execution of the plan.

Dining Room:

Our modern 70-cover dining area and sun terrace is located in the main hall together with a TV lounge and four teaching / meeting rooms.

We have a varied selection of nutritious, wholesome foods.

Breakfast is from 8am until 9.15am daily (your own time slot can also be allocated)
Meals available from 12 noon - 3pm daily
Restaurant open 6.30pm - 9.30pm daily

Bedrooms:

The Victorian Coach House comprises of a selection of 3 Star twin, triple, quadruple and bunk house accommodation that sleeps up to 40.
Some of the rooms are en-suite. The Coach House also includes a game/social area and teaching/relaxation room.

For a real sense of adventure, our Yurt Camp comprises of four yurts, each sleeping eight, a wood burner heating and exterior seating. Shower and washrooms facilities are situated in the ground floor of the coach house nearby.

Our 3* rated guest accommodation in the main hall, comprises of a selection of twin, triple and quadruple bedrooms all en-suite and sleeps up to 25 people.

The main entrance road leads to the central car park which then leads directly to the back gate. Please call at reception on your arrival. All areas are clearly signed for visitor information

We relate our outdoor activities back into relevant topics within the classroom.

•Climbing on the 4km limestone escarpment of The Eglwyseg, including Trevor Rocks and Worlds End
•Mountain biking in the Vale of Llangollen, in Llandegla Forest and Horseshoe Pass
•Canoeing on the Llangollen canal and River Dee
•Fell walking in the Brewyn Mountains
•Gorge walking
•Coasteering a full day trip to some beautiful beaches for a wonderful coasteering session
•Caving close to the only caves in North Wales
•Within easy reach of the Snowdonia National Park and some of the most spectacular peaks in North Wales
