What makes this great accommodation for School groups?

Dunfield House offers a great opportunity for schools planning their own indvidual programme. We provide wholesome locally sourced home cooked food along with a 3 star visitbritain group accommodation rating. You remain in control of how much the trip costs making it available for all budgets. Outdoor activities can be arranged and assemblies provided. Many groups make return bookings year on year.

Property Description

Dunfield is an impressive grade II mansion house set in 15 acres of grounds, it is two miles from the nearest town with nature on the doorstep. We offer bunk accommodation in 14 rooms sleeping from 40 - 70 people. There are plenty of communal rooms for group work and rehearsals along with an indoor swimming pool

Disabled facilities:

We are unable to offer level access sleeping accommodation in the main house, our Stables accommodation has three level access bedrooms [one ensuite] please ring to discuss individual requirements

Catering:

Three locally sourced [where possible] home cooked meals are provided daily with packed lunches by request. Cakes/biscuits and hot chocolate round off the evening for young people with a cheese & biscuit supper for staff

Kitchen:

We provide a fully catered service, a water boiler provides 24 hour hot water for tea and coffee. squashes & blackcurrant are also available at all times

Dining Room:

We have three dining rooms seating up to 100 people. Meals are served as family service with children and young people encouraged to wait on tables and each other, serving out meals and clearing up afterwards - we have a merry band of staff who wash up for you!

Bedrooms:

14 bedrooms offer sleeping accommodation for 70 guests. Our stables accommodation can be booked with a further 26 beds and sole use of the site. Three bedrooms are ensuite with 9 bedrooms having a washbasin in the room.

Linen:

Bedding packs are provided on arrival with beds [majority are 3 ft wide beds] having duvets and pillows.

Bathrooms:

Plentiful hot showers and toilets are situated close to all the rooms.

Sitting room:

The lounge has sofas and seating for use as a communal room, staff room or workshop area. The uninterupted view from the picture windows are of hergest ridge and never fails to impress.

Meeting room:

We have a multipurpose/chapel room that seats 50 but can be used for arts and crafts, music and drama.

The lounge, entrance hall, and the three dining rooms can all be utilised for workshops or rehearsals

Games room:

We have a recreation room, again multipurpose that seats 150. This room has table tennis tables and a pool table and is suitable for a wide variety of activities especially in wet weather

Projector etc:

A data projector is available to use at no extra cost

TV and Music Facilities:

We have a PRS license, TV's, DVD and video players, please note we do not have a television signal.

Internet:

Broadband and wireless printing is available onsite. Due to the thickness of the walls our internet reception is limited to 4 rooms.

Heating:

All rooms are centrally heated with controls in each room along with a central control, this enables you to meet the needs of your group [and respond to weather conditions!!]

Outdoor Facilities:

Dunfield has 15 acres of grounds, with football and volleyball areas, grassed lawns to the front of the house. Stream and woodlands create natural environments for wildlife, free and organised play

Swimming Pool:

Our indoor heated pool [constant depth of 1.38 meters] is available to use at no extra cost. Risk assessments and documentation for 'responsible adults' to read are sent prior to your visit

Parking:

Ample parking is available onsite along with good access for coaches.

Activities available on and off site:

Team building and adventure activites can be booked on and off site and can be incorporated into a package for you. You are also welcome to plan your own programme to keep costs to a minimum. Picture and written quizes alogn with orienteering maps are available onsite
