Nestling between the river Usk and the Canal, the Bunkhouse has a superb setting a short walk from Brecon town centre. At the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, that incorporates the Fforest Fawr Geopark, Canal Barn is an excellent location for outdoor activity and field study groups. It is also an established base for Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions and training.

Canal Barn is a single story building that has been made as accessible as possible to disabled people. PHAB Wales have assessed this holiday accommodation and recommend it is ideally suited for up to 9 wheelchair users, but that 12 can be accommodated where required.
Canal Barn has been designed principally for self-catering, and being located in Brecon there are plenty of take-aways, restuarants, shops and supermarkets nearby for supplies. Alternatively we can supply you with the contact details of local Caterers.
The kitchen is very large and fully equipped to commercial standards, with 3 sinks, dishwasher, 2 cookers, fridge, fridge/freezer(small), microwave and toasters, as well as all the pots, pans and crockery you will need.
The dining area of the Common Roomis spacious allowing your group to all sit down and eat together. French windows open out onto the garden where there are 2 barbecues and plenty of picnic tables, enabling you to eat ‘al fresco’ on those balmy summer evenings.
There are 6 bedrooms, sleeping 2, 4, 4, 4, 4, and 6 respectively
We supply a pillow and pillowcase as standard. Additional bedding (duvet and sheets) can be hired for a small extra fee
There are five separate bathrooms each with a shower toilet and sink.
There is a sitting and relaxation area in the Common Room
The Common Room doubles as a classroom / training room
The Common Room is used for indoor games, plus there is and enclosed Annex by the main entrance that is also used for indoor games
A TV with video and DVD player, and a CD player are available on request
Canal Barn is fully central heated
The garden is available for sitting, relaxing and for non vigorous outdoor training. For more energetic outdoor training and games we have use of the adjacent Brecon Rugby pitches (3 in total)

There is ample secure off road parking
The Brecon Beacons National Park is 'Natures Theme Park', and Canal Barn Bunkhouse with it's superior washing, drying, and equipment storage facilities is the base for a wide range of outdoor activities and pursuits. Walking, cycling, mountain biking and pony trekking are the mainstream activities, but the Brecon Beacons are also a major centre for canoeing, caving, rock climbing and abseiling.
