What makes this great accommodation for School groups?

The Braich Goch is a friendly, well-equipped bunkhouse situated close to the coastal areas of Barmouth, Tywyn and Aberystwyth and the Cadair Idris mountain area. We are also very close to the Centre of Alternative Technology. An ideal location for field studies and activity breaks. The staff on site all come from an education background.

Property Description

The bunkhouse is in an old Coaching Inn, having been here for some 400 years. It was converted from hotel accommodation 7 years ago and provides everything needed for outdoor activities of all types. We also have a drying room with washing machine and tumbler dryer just in case it should happen to rain!
We are rated 4* Bunkhouse by the Welsh Tourist Board. The view from here is stunning in all weathers!

Catering:

Self-catering.

Kitchen:

Large fully equipped kitchen with range cooker having 8 gas rings, 2 electric ovens and grill. All crockery/cutlery and pans for large groups. Fridges, freezer, 2 microwaves, toasters, catering urn.

Dining Room:

Large separate dining room with seating for 26. Inglenook fireplace. Local maps, guides and small library of books including wildlife identification. Games for the evenings.

Bedrooms:

6 rooms, all full-size bunkbeds. Rooms 1,2,3,4 5 sleep 4, room 6 sleeps 6. 4 are en-suite, the other 2 have a sink and a separate bathroom.

Linen:

Beds are provided with mattress cover and pillow. Sleeping bag or duvet/sheet and pillowcase are needed. Linen hire is available for a small charge.

Bathrooms:

6 bathrooms. Each with toilet, sink and electric shower. Rooms 1,2,5 & 6 are en-suite.

Sitting room:

Lounge area with comfortable seating, open fire and TV for use with DVD's and videos (of which we have a good few!)

Meeting room:

The lounge or dining room can be used. In addition the large bar area is available for groups when the bar is not open. (The pub is open on a tues/fri/sat evening from 6pm)

Games room:

The bar has a pool table, darts and other bar games which can be used by bunkhouse guests.

TV and Music Facilities:

TV available inlounge for DVD/video.

Internet:

Braoadband access in lounge.

Heating:

Fully centrally heated by a pellet burning system.

Outdoor Facilities:

Small lawn area opposite the bunkhouse and lower garden has barbeque area.
Secure bike storage.

Parking:

Parking opposite on provate area for 16 cars, ample space for couple minibuses.

Activities available on and off site:

Off site - we can provide information and help organise activity days such as canoeing & climbing.
